At Elf, we find inspiration everywhere — from ideas to nature, people, arts, creativity, music, sports, achievements, discoveries, and more. Our blog offers an ongoing Profile series highlighting individuals who have done remarkable things. Several of these people have also invented new products and services. They inspire us through their courage to try new things, help others, and create anew.

Since our founding in 2005, we’ve shared our strong affinity for the Italian master, Leonardo da Vinci. He inspires us today, five centuries later! Famous for his artwork, Da Vinci had an insatiable curiosity and love of learning that led him to explore his natural environment and invent aeronautical concepts from the parachute to the glider, helicopter, and landing gear. His learning was not limited to the arts or sciences alone, but like anyone who truly wishes to grow and understand life and how things work and connect, Da Vinci explored multiple subjects and ideas. He did not rest in thinking alone but constantly experimented so that he could apply his knowledge.
